Anything Grows Community School | 100 E. Maple St | Bellingham, WA, 98225 | 360.527.2884

Our Outdoor Learning Center, located on a seven-acre property near Lake Whatcom, represents an ongoing opportunity for us to access the out of doors. The Center, 15 minutes from our downtown location, includes a barn containing a fully equipped classroom and workshop. The property is a combination of woodland and pasture with a pond and a small creek.

Barn Classroom

The barn houses a 600 square foot heated classroom, a small library and science materials; a 400 sq. ft. workshop with gardening, wood- and metal-working tools; and an unfinished loft (approx. 1000 sq. ft.) available for future development.

Projects & Gardening

We conduct and plan a wide variety of activities at this site, from gardening and greenhouse construction to sand sculpture and other forms of outdoor art. There are opportunities for nature study (such as weather and animal tracking), trail and waterway construction, design and construction of furniture and outbuildings, animal care, tree planting and the development of adventure playgrounds, tree houses and forts.
